HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

At HIGH RIVER GOLD, we are committed to the protection of the Health and Safety of our employees, contractors and the public at all stages of our activities including exploration, operation and decommissioning. We strongly believe in the principle of "Safe Production" whereby no job is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely. We will continually strive to prevent injuries and illnesses by:
  • complying with applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate;
  • providing employees and contractors with a working environment free of uncontrolled hazards;
  • identifying and effectively eliminating or controlling significant health and safety risks in each of our operations;
  • measuring and monitoring the safety performance of individuals and work groups against planned objectives and targets;
  • supporting operations in implementing this policy and their health and safety programs.

In support of the above, HIGH RIVER GOLD operations, and the operations of its Subsidiaries, will:

  • implement and maintain formal health and safety management systems;
  • set health and safety performance objectives and targets;
  • identify potential emergency situations, maintain and regularly test emergency response plans;
  • conduct regular audits to assess conformance to this policy and implement corrective action plans aimed at improving health and safety standards and practices;
  • engage in frequent and structured communications on health and safety issues and initiatives with all employees, contractors and suppliers;
  • provide employees at all levels and contractors with appropriate training so they will actively carry out their health and safety duties and responsibilities;

It is the duty of each employee to comply with this policy and to co-operate with management to ensure a safe workplace.
